Something that I read in this weeks reading that stood out to me was about the ego of an entrepreneur and how they can often have self-destructive characteristics: overbearing need for control, sense of distrust, overriding desire for success, and unrealistic optimism. While I do agree with the last two, I feel that the first two do not truly describe an entrepreneur. I believe that an entrepreneur trusts people and that is why they are starting their own business, they are welcoming others into the business they are doing. I also believe that entrepreneur's create new businesses in order to help others and not because they want to have control. However, it was interesting to see that these characteristics are often associated with being an entrepreneur.

A part of the reading that was confusing to me was the entrepreneurship motivation chart. I believed prior to reading this that someone decided they wanted to create a new product or business and just did it, I did not realize how much truly goes into deciding to undertake the adventure. While it makes sense now when I originally looked at the graph it was very confusing and foreign to me.

Do you believe an entrepreneur must have at least one of the characteristics you stated, or are there some entrepreneur's that are very Type B personality?
Is stress a leading factor that causes entrepreneur's to give up on their dream?

I disagree with the author when you said that risk taking entrepreneurs are profit seeking and risk avoiding entrepreneurs are activity seeking. I feel that just because someone enjoys taking risk or does not enjoy it does not show what they are hoping to get out of their entrepreneurial experience. For instance, if someone already had enough money to sustain life they may take risk but only for the activity they are participating in.
